Dear Parent/Caregiver,
COVID Update – 14 July 2021
- COVID lockdown & associated Restrictions have been extended until at least July 30.
- Students are now expected to stay home and work online with the school open (staffed by a skeleton staff) for supervision of the students where parents are working and cannot provide this supervision themselves at home. These students will also do their lessons online while at school – normal classes will not be operating. This now remains in effect until at least 30 July (more updates closer to that date).
- NSW Health rules are that ALL students (and staff) must wear masks whilst indoors at school. Masks also remain compulsory for public transport. Visitors to the school must also wear musts and use the QR code when checking in/out.
- For students who do not have access to online learning, the next package of lesson material (form 19/7/21 – 30/7/21) can be requested via our front office – ring first to arrange a pickup time (the new package will be available from Monday morning 19 July). Any parent wishing to borrow a laptop from the school for their child to use at home to access online learning should contact the office to arrange (9622 7300).
- Now that the lockdown is being extended, we will be loaning technology as a priority to Year 11 & 12 students to enable them to continue with online learning. Once these students have access, we will arrange help for students in other years where needed – again – contact our office to make arrangements.
- Students in the Support Unit already have packages for Weeks 1 & 2 of the term and will now receive additional individual packages of work for weeks 3 & 4 of the term. These packages will be available at the front office to pick up from next week.
- Non-essential visitors to the school are still not permitted, parents should contact the school via phone (9622 7300) for any enquiries.
- All school facilities are closed to community users until further notice.
- The school Canteen remains closed until further notice.
- We are not permitted to run any extra-curricular activities including sporting events until further notice.
- Year 12 Trial Exams have been postponed and will be held in Weeks 5 & 6 of this term. Another new roster/timetable is being issued to Year 12, but please note that at this stage we will still plan to commence our HSC Trial exam period on Monday 9 August.
- Students completing major works are still required to complete these. Year 12 students can contact their Visual Arts teachers or their Industrial Technology Timber teacher to arrange access to the art rooms or workshops.
- Music students needing to rehearse their performances can plan with their music teacher to come into school and rehearse in our music studio – this is by appointment only.
