Basketball Returns to The Hills Sports High School – TSP Program

We are proud to announce the return of Basketball to the Talented Sports Program (TSP) at The Hills Sports High School in 2025.

Basketball is one of the fastest-growing sports in Western Sydney, and our region is home to some of the most exciting and dynamic young talent in the country. As a school dedicated to sporting excellence, we are thrilled to bring this high-impact program back to our roster of elite sports. This relaunch marks an exciting new chapter—one where we’re committed to showcasing, developing, and celebrating the incredible basketball talent that thrives in Western Sydney.

At The Hills Sports High School, we recognise the power of basketball to engage students both athletically and academically. With basketball being deeply embedded in the culture of Western Sydney, our TSP Basketball program offers a specialised environment where student-athletes are developed holistically—on and off the court.

We’ve formed a strategic partnership with Basketball NSW, ensuring that our students have access to the best coaching, competitions, and development pathways available. From regional trials to state representation and even international exposure, our program is built to elevate athletes to the next level.

Terrance Rone

_{Elite Coaching at Every Level}

Coach Terrence Rone, who leads our Basketball program, is a coach with over 25 years of experience, both nationally and internationally. His extensive coaching resume includes roles at:

• Top-tier private and public high schools
• Junior and senior representative teams across associations such as Sydney Comets, Norths Bears, Parramatta, Macarthur Heat, Blacktown, and Hornsby Spiders.
• State-level high-performance programs under Basketball NSW, including the State Performance Program (SPP) and High Performance Program (HPP).
• U.S. experience with Junior College and AAU coaching roles across Texas, California, and Pennsylvania, providing athletes with pathways to the U.S. collegiate system.

• U16 Boys NSW Metro Junior League Champions (2023)
• Australian School Championships – Open Men Division 1 National Champions (2019)
• CHS U15 Boys Knockout State Final Four (2024)
• Over 60 players receiving scholarships to U.S. high schools and universities
• Multiple NSW State Cup titles and school tournament championships

Our coach brings with him not only a wealth of experience but a deep passion for player development. From skill refinement to game IQ, and from discipline to leadership, our TSP Basketball athletes are mentored to become complete players.
